We have been rockin' out quite a bit lately to The Jimmies here at home. The girls have got their air guitar moves and the mosh pit bounce down pat now. Wellie is working on her headbanging, but hasn't got the hair for it yet....
Here is another reason for you to love them too!
Oh, did I mention you can get their CD Make Your Own Someday over in the shop... silly me ;)

Update on all things Monkeytail....
I am the Queen of Multi-tasking today! I don't quite know what's gotten into me, but I'm updating this blog, cooking dinner (were having Tikka Masala tonight!!) and drinking a cup of coffee all at the same time!!! (the last one counts as a chore... can you remember the last time you got to finish a cup of coffee with toddlers at your feet?)
The Official Tooth Fairy Kits are so hot right now! We completely sold out of our new shipment over the weekend!!!! But never fear a requisition has been lodged with the Office of the Tooth Fairy for new kits to be sent STAT... in other words, they should be hear by the end of next week!
Thanks to everyone who Pre-ordered their Gucio Toddler Shoes. The order has been placed and we should have our shipment ASAP. I'll be getting in some of the most popular sizes and colours, so if you missed out, let me know and I'll reserve a pair for you if I can :)
I am unfortunately only up to page 28 of The Picture of Dorian Grey. Alas, my good intentions have been high jacked yet again... maybe I'll aim for a book every 2 months?
In other news, I've been worked on a few little ideas to bring some new funky products to the store and in particular update (read stock) our party section. So in my travels I've been catching up with some of my Etsy favourites and I wanted to share this little gem with you...

Its a Personalised Paper Doll Boutique Card Table Playhouse by missprettypretty. Isn't it awesome!!! It fits right over a card table and comes with heaps of dress up accessories.

I would so love to bring this to the shop for all you lovely friends of handmade treasures, but alas Global Economic Collapse is making some of these divine finds too hard to bring to you myself. So i thought I would blog about it hear so you don't miss out on something so divine!
They retail for $85-95 US and she also makes boy ones (firehouses, farms, mechanic workshops). I definitely have one on my wish list for the girls for Christmas.
You can find missprettypretty on etsy, pay her a visit and admire her creations

Pre-Order for Gucio Shoes
Just a quick reminder that Pre-orders for Gucio Toddler Shoes close at midnight Sunday 15 March 2009. We will only be restocking on certain colours and sizes, so get in quick so you don't miss out.

Also, an update on my self imposed book challenge... the first day I managed to read exactly nine and a half lines (yes, lines!!!!) thanks to a very stubborn two year old who refused to sleep in her new big girl bed!!
I'm now up to page 23, so not huge progress, but I'm slowly making a dent.
Seems the little ones have also caught the reading bug, Wellington was busted reading the Ikea catalogue on the toilet yesterday. She jumped so high when I asked her what she was up to she dropped the whole thing in the loo.... i nearly cried, I love the Ikea catalogue :(

March resolution
On my recent trade show trip to Sydney I managed to indulge in a pleasure I have long since given up for the sake of not enough hours in the day. Reading a novel for the sole purpose of enjoyment! It was heaven. I paid a pretty overpriced dollar at the airport for a copy of "A First Among Sequels" by Jasper Fforde, who is one of my favourite authors, and pulled it from my bag at every available moment just so I could finish it uninterrupted before I returned home.
I managed all but the last chapter, which I stayed up extra extra late to finish the second night I was home. Bliss, true bliss and Fforde witty satire did not disappoint. I highly recommend the Thursday Next series and The Nursery Crime series is awesome too!
Anyhoo, I was in a bookstore this morning looking for a present for my husband and feeling sorry for myself when I spotted all the new titles out that I once coveted and would have purchased on the day they were released, when I made myself a March resolution.
I will attempt to read 1 whole book per month! Doesn't sound too bad, but considering my only non child or business reading time is when I read the Weekend Australian magazine in the toilet, it could prove to be a bit of a challenge.
So, instead of spending money on something I probably won't finish, I came home and chose another book of the shelf that I already haven't finished! (this means, when I tell my husband my brilliant idea, I get extra points for not spending any money also!!)
So the challenge I have given myself for March is to read The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. I chose this one for three reasons...
1. I can tell myself I'm much smarter now cause I'm reading "the classics"
2. It was the thinnest book with only 213 pages if I don't read any of the notes or appendix
3. My other choice was the last Harry Potter novel, but I have to re-read all the others first cause its any annoying habit I have when i read a new book in a series. So this one book alone could potentially take me 6 months!
So wish me luck, I'll let you know how I go! Vicki xxx
